Microneedling

Microneedling Facial

Non-Surgical Rejuvenation for a Confident, Youthful You

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural wound-healing response, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining skin firmness, elasticity, and a youthful appearance.

How it works

A practitioner uses a handheld device or a roller with tiny needles to create precise, microscopic punctures in the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries do not cause scarring but instead trigger a healing cascade. The process involves:

  1. Inflammation: The initial injury prompts the release of growth factors.

  2. Proliferation: The skin begins to rebuild by producing new collagen and elastin fibers.

  3. Remodeling: The new collagen and elastin mature and tighten, resulting in improved skin texture and tone.

Benefits

Microneedling is used to address a wide range of skin concerns, including:

  • Acne scars and other types of scars

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Enlarged pores

  • Uneven skin tone and texture

  • Stretch marks

  • Mild cases of loose or crepey skin

  • Certain types of alopecia (hair loss), often in combination with topical treatments

When Will I See Results?

You may start seeing subtle changes within 3–5 days, with full results appearing within two weeks. Effects typically last 3–4 months.

How It Works

Botox is a neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes the muscles responsible for facial lines by blocking nerve  signals. When the muscles relax, the skin appears smoother and more youthful.

Aftercare Tips

Pre and Post-Treatment Care

Proper care before and after the procedure is crucial for safety and optimal results.

Before Treatment:

  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least two weeks.

  • Discontinue use of retinoids, topical antibiotics, and exfoliating acids 5-7 days before the appointment.

  • Do not take anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen for at least 3 days prior, as they can interfere with the body’s natural inflammatory healing process.

  • Inform your provider of any medications you are taking or a history of cold sores, keloid scarring, or other skin conditions.

After Treatment:

  • Immediately following: The skin will be red and sensitive. Do not touch your face with unwashed hands. Avoid makeup, sunscreen, and harsh skin products for at least 24 hours.

  • First 24-48 hours: Cleanse your face with a gentle, cool cleanser and pat it dry. Use a light, oil-free moisturizer. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and swimming to prevent sweat and bacteria from entering the open pores.

  • First 3-7 days: As your skin begins to peel and flake, let it shed naturally. Do not pick or scratch at the treated area. Continue to use a gentle moisturizer and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily.

  • Resuming routine: You can gradually reintroduce your regular skincare products and makeup after a few days, or once your skin is no longer irritated.
